Who we are
Snowboard Niseko is an independent guide to snowboarding in Niseko, Hokkaido and Japan. For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at info@snowboardniseko.com.
What data we collect
- When you email us: your email address, your name if you include it and anything you write in your message.
- When you browse the site: our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you request, for security and to keep the site working.
We do not ask for or knowingly collect sensitive data, and we do not sell personal data.
Cookies
We only use a small number of cookies needed for the site to work:
- Language cookie (pll_language): remembers whether you prefer the English or Spanish version.
- Login cookies: used only by site administrators.
We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we add tools such as Google Analytics, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Links to other websites
Our guides link to other websites, including Niseko Gates (our local partner for lessons and guiding), official resort and tourism sites, and online shops. Some links may be affiliate links, as explained in our affiliate disclosure. When you visit another site, its own privacy policy and cookies apply. If you contact Niseko Gates to book a lesson, they handle your data under their own policy.
How we use your data
- To reply to your messages and requests.
- To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
- To understand and improve our content.
Our legal bases are your consent (for example, when you write to us) and our legitimate interest in running a secure and useful website.
Who we share data with
We only share data with service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting provider and our email provider. These providers may store data outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area, with the safeguards required by law. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
- Emails: as long as needed to answer you and for up to 24 months afterwards.
- Server logs: for the period set by our hosting provider, usually a few weeks.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it and to receive a copy of it. Write to info@snowboardniseko.com and we will reply as soon as possible. If you are in the European Union, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos).
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
