About Snowboard Niseko

Snowboard Niseko is a guide to snowboarding in Niseko and the rest of Japan, written by snowboard instructors and guides who spend their winters riding and teaching on Mt Niseko Annupuri.

We started it because we kept answering the same questions from riders on the chairlift: When should I come? Which resort should I ride today? How do I stop sinking in powder? Is it safe to go through the gates? This site is where we put those answers.

Snowboard Niseko is written by a small team of snowboard instructors and guides who teach in Niseko every winter, from first-timers at the base of the Ace in Grand Hirafu to guided days through the gates. Every guide is based on what we see on the mountain with our students. What we do not know first-hand, we say so and link to official sources.

How we write

We write about what we know from riding and teaching here. We review prices, dates and season information every October. Conditions in the mountains change, so always check official resort information and the daily avalanche report before you ride.
